Did you enjoyed the Singtel Formula 1 2009?
WE DO!!!Sharing my experience being the grid girl.
It was not easy at all.... rehearsal seem so easy.. just holding a flag, walk and pose... Simple right?
But i was wrong. The weather was really hot and the track was like burning my feet.
And that's how i got my blister for the first day.
The first day i was being asked to replace for the Singtel Grid Girl as something happened which i not gonna mention. My duties is to do the supporting race with all the other Singtel Grid Girl.
Make up and Hair do gonna be done and out to the track. The weather was really very hot and we walk a very long distance to reach the gate we suppose to enter.
Walking there, all of us was sweating already.
The moment i enter to the track, i can feel the heat on the ground... it burning...
But still keep walking till i reach my lot of the car and pick up the board,... pose and wait.
The heat from the ground is no joke... after the car reach us and we have instruction to move out of the track and walk back to our tent. I immediately took off my boots and see my foot. OMG very bad blister. The rest of the girls who are waiting in the tent saw my blister and keep asking am i alright. Sob!!! I was having difficulty walking back to our hippo bus but keep endure till i reach home.
I poke the blister so that the liquid in it can come out, and i went for my shower which i need it badly. I opened the water tap and the moment the water touch my feet... i have no energy at all and sit on the floor. Because the pain was unbearable... I showered very quickly but of cos clean myself la.. hahaha... I know the pain is unbearable but i need to kill the germs so i cooked hot water and pour it into the pail and sin my feet into it.
Day 2The moment i step off my bed, i can feel the pain and it really very painful.
Hubby asked me not to go and work but i insisted.
Wear a very thick socks and wear my sneakers. At least there is cushion.
I went to 7 eleven to buy plaster so that later i could stick on it.
I feel much more comfortable after putting the plaster and i thought i am ok with it because i dont feel that pain already. So again, i am replacing the grid girl for day 2 which is the A group.
I suppose to be in the B group with the other girls.. but again we are being separated.
Group B went to do their make up and hair do first as they are going for the 1st supporting race for the day. Then follow by Group A doing the make up and hair do.
Off they go for the supporting race,... and most of them come back and tell me that... "Now i know how you got your blister on the feet... " hahaha... Some of them got blister too but not as bad as mine.. I also not sure why mine was so badly hurt. I learn my lesson from the day 1 and put lotsa of cotton into my boots for supporting the heat.
Then it was our turn to go for the 2nd supporting race.
The weather is warmer then the day 1... I walk really slow so that i wont hurt my wound..
And again we walking into the track... i can feel my wound is getting from bad to worst.
But i dont have a choice i got to pretend and walk really properly back to our resting area.
It really got worse,.. so i prepared 8 plaster and 3 layer of cotton to stick it on to each feet and wear my socks. And another layer of cotton outside my socks and wear my boots.
It gonna be the last show already.. which is the Final F1. All of us walk out to show ourself and some of us got to hold the board and wait for the car to come probably about 20mins standing there without movement. And once they reach we walk back to our tent to get the flags.
I know my leg couldn't take it anymore... But still trying very hard to walk nicely.
There we go for the final show.... I am holding the Poland Flag, driver
Robert Kubica.
We walked to our own particular lot and pose, waited about 30mins for the car to drive out and park into the lot and the mechanic start to inspect the car. And again we waiting another 30mins before the actual race gonna start. Total of 1 hour standing there, could u imagine how i endure with my injured feet. Once we leave the track... i am walking with a limp. I really couldn't walk anymore. Finally is over.. and i make it till the end of the event.
11pm we are leaving for our hippo bus, it quite a distance for us to work till we reach the bus.
I am walking really slowly that i called Cordelia, ask the bus to wait for me.
Hahaha... I took a cab home when we reach the singtel building.. couldnt walk anymore.
I was like crawling back home....
At last... i make it and experience the whole thing...
Now i gonna heal my feet... sad to say i gonna walk with a limp for a few days and i hurt my angle too due to not letting my feet touch the ground too much.
After a long story... Here we go.. for the photographs..
I have fun with the girls..
